While women got knocked around, Coke and Budweiser shined as usual

Let the record show that 2010 was the year of older women being viciously tackled in Super Bowl commercials. It's about time: These old biddies have been getting away with far too much lately.

Of course until kickoff, 2010 was known as the Year of the Tim Tebow Pro-Life ad, in which the ex-Florida quarterback and his mom teamed to bring America a message funded by that conservative Christian fun bunch, Focus on the Family. The commercial was kept strictly under wraps until Sunday morning, when CBS released what turned out to be a rather timid, benign message which had Mrs. Tebow talking about her "miracle baby."

I must have missed that one during the actual game however it was picked up by a bunch of news shows up here in Canada and of course both the hard core Christian groups and committed feminists both weighed in with their always valuable opinions, both for and against of course.

I just love watching shrill knee jerk reactionaries from both sides blow a gasket on the national news, spewing their poisonous venom like a word mini gun, straving all those with different or opposing views.

The Christians believing that "God" supports their view and is against anyone one else with a different or heaven forbid (pun intended) an opposing point of view. <Also if your view is really abberant, you're going to hell of course.>

The Feminist proclaim loudly and with the attendant intellectual snear that "no one is going to control my body or reproductive choices and anyone that thinks they can is seriously deluded or a mental defective, laws or no laws."

Hmmm. So maybe have safe sex or better yet consider abstaining. Oh, there's a thought. Oh but wait, sorry: I can't suggest to you what to do. You already know better than all of the rest of society and all the experts. Of course. My bad.

Just for the record, any extremist of any stripe is a huge pain in the ass and isn't worth listening to. To be specific, that includes all races, colours, creeds, religions, faith, upper echelon government workers in general, and more specifically almost all Politicians, Big Oil, Big Business, banks, Insurance companies, Rev Canada, the IRS, Wall Street, those that are wilfully ignorant and all other leeches that fleece the average working person in legal and illegal operations.

Criminals, scam artists and those that abuse women, children, animals, seniors and the challenged are also on my permanent sh*t list.

However just to make sure that I retain my self appointed status/role of groucy old guy, every Saturday morning I make sure to take out my pet peeve/sh*t list and make sure it's up to date.
